Wellcome Laboratories
This new build contract was a two part construction of a steam plant room and a corrosive store at the Wellcome Laboratories.
The Steam Clean Plant Room: Construction of a steel framed brick clad single storey building with reinforced concrete foundations together with a steel framed canopy supported on reinforced concrete foundations. The installation of a service duct, drainage and external works consisting of external paving and the reinstatement of the road completed this part of the contract.
The Corrosive Store: Construction and fitting out of this single storey building for the storage of chemicals. The building structure is pre-cast reinforced concrete portal frames carried on insitu concrete bases, clad externally with profiled metal roof cladding and brick and block cavity walls.
External works included the diversion of existing services, the re-construction of a section of the roadway, the construction of a new canopy over that roadway, paving adjacent to the building and drainage.
