Haberdashers Aske
The redevelopment of the former Southwark Fire Station and Grotto sites in Southwark created a 900-place secondary school plus a 250-place sixth form, as well as a sports hall and outdoor community green space for 1150 new pupils. The project also involved the refurbishment of the Grade II listed former Southwark fire station built in 1777 alongside the development of a ten-storey residential building.
The new secondary school and sixth form, designed by Peter Taylor Associates. On the adjacent Grotto site, a green space and 1,300 sq m sports centre with a multi-use games area and outdoor artificial pitch for use by both the school and local community also form part of the proposal.

London Fire Brigade
The former London Fire Brigade site partially sits on a conservation area and consisted of multiple Grade II listed buildings.
The site dates back to 1750 and stands as a monument in the heart of the local community. The fire station supported the needs of London for over 135 years, an aspect which forms the blueprint of the newly designed development.
In the heart of Borough, SE1 and set in the former home of the London Fire Brigade, it connects past, present and future through a mix of Grade II listed buildings and the finest contemporary architecture, set around a central courtyard for a traditionally different take on modern living.
Secondary Free School and Sixth Form Pupils

Fitzpatrick and sister company Hadston were responsible for the design and planning of the new Free School in Southwark SE1. Comprising Grade I Listed buildings and part new build this was a challenging project to deliver with the historical constraints.
